Gymnastics: Tory Wilson to have surgery on ruptured Achilles, Lisfranc fracture

On Saturday night, senior Tory Wilson was carried off the mat by assistant coach Tom Farden after falling during her floor exercise routine.

The University of Utah Athletic Department told The Daily Utah Chronicle on Sunday that Wilson had ruptured her right Achilles, as well as suffered a Lisfranc fracture in her left foot. Wilson will undergo surgery on both at the same time on Monday.

Wilson tore the Achilles taking off during her first floor pass. She will miss the remainder of the season.

This is the third straight season the Red Rocks have lost someone to an Achilles injury. Corrie Lothrop went down in 2013, while Kassandra Lopez missed last season. Their recovery process is chronicled here, a process Wilson will now have to endure herself.
