Police Report: December

Police+Report%3A+December

Bullets at the library

A staff member found three bullets lying near the third floor information desk inside the Marriott Library on Dec. 4. U Police could not find the owner of the bullets, but they fit a .22 caliber handgun. There was no surveillance in the area, so Sgt. Garth Smith was unsure whether the bullets were intentionally left there or dropped accidentally.

Construction worker injured

A male worker slipped and hit a bar at a construction site for BioFire Diagnostics in Research Park. The employee of Western Steel was clearing snow from the area when the accident occurred on Nov. 30; he was transported to the University of Utah Medical Center, Smith said.

Alleged Assault

A custodial employee reported several instances of alleged sexual assault at her workplace on campus. The woman, according to a police report obtained by The Daily Utah Chronicle by GRAMA request, said her male supervisor forced her to perform oral sex on him during seven occasions spanning from March 1 to Oct. 7. She filed a formal complaint and submitted an evidence kit with U Police on Oct. 22.
