Due to inclement weather this week, Utah was forced to postpone its game with Weber State and cancel a game with Idaho State. Those games would have been played on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.

The contest against Weber State was rescheduled for April 12 at Dumke Family Softball Field. The Utes will get some time off this week before resuming Pac-12 play on April 8 at Cal.

“We are going to get a few days off to recover, which is necessary because we had some setbacks with some minor injuries, and we need the rest,” Utah softball head coach Amy Hogue said.

With the postponement of this week’s games, the Utes get a full week to prepare to face the Golden Bears (13-12-1) on the road.

“There’s nothing but tough competition in front of us, and I think that with a couple of practices this week that we can be ready to take on Cal in our next Pac-12 series,” Hogue said.

Hogue Sees Continued Improvement In Team

After a win and two narrow losses to the Wildcats in Tucson, Ariz., Hogue says that the Utes keep getting better.

“I was disappointed that we couldn’t find a way to walk away with the series, but I still believe that we continued to get better as a team even with the losses,” Hogue said. “We have grown offensively so much since we opened the series against Oregon State.”

Utah Continues Streaks

Anissa Urtez, Ally Dickman and Hannah Flippen all extended their hitting streaks to 10, eight and eight, respectively. The same players also extended their streak of reaching base to 10, eight and eight, respectively.
