Singers, Stars and Plants: Red Butte Garden’s 2017 Line-up

Music, stars and a beautiful outdoor garden: Red Butte Garden always has a lot to offer. Their summer concert series is just one example. Take a picnic after dark to Red Butte and camp out for a while to enjoy food, music and the outdoors now that the weather is getting warmer.

Starting May 23 at 7:30 p.m. Red Butte will be hosting an eclectic line up of artists and groups including Jethro Tull, a British Rock group leading the series.

June 2 at 7 p.m., Trey Anastasio is going to be at Red Butte. He also played the new Orleans Jazz festival.

If Blues are more your thing, see Taj Mahal and Keb Mo join forces June 4 at 7 p.m.

Try Dispatch to connect to your roots on June 18 at 6:30 p.m.

Pop star Jason Mraz is coming on June 20 at 7:30 p.m.

Enjoy some Latin Rock with Santana on June 28 at 8 p.m.

July 6 at 7 p.m. marks the arrival of Kenny Wayne Shepherd, a Blues Rock soloist. For a little more soul, try out Amos Lee on July 13 at 7:30 p.m.

North Mississippi Allstars is a Southern Rock and Blues band performing July 14 at 7 p.m.

Don’t worry country lovers, on July 20 Mary Chaplin Carpenter is performing at 7:30 p.m.

Lyle Lovett will be here the next day, July 21, 7:30 p.m.

Retro Futura will bring back the 80’s on July 23 at 7 p.m.

Portugal. The Man is a Rock band from Alaska performing July 25, 7:30 p.m.

Tedischi Trucks Band plays on Aug. 1 at 6:30 p.m.

Kick it classical with the Utah Symphony on Aug. 2 at 8 p.m.

Drive-By Truckers are as alternative as their name and can be seen and heard Aug. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Catch Gregory Alan Isakov and Blind Pilot on Aug. 10 at 7 p.m.

The Head and The Heart, an Indie Folk band, is playing on August 13 at 7 p.m.

Also Indie, The Decemberists, hail from Oregon and play on Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Jazz Pianist Chick Corea plays on Aug. 16, 7 p.m.

Trombone Shorty is performing on Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.

Herbie Hancock will be tickling the keys on Aug. 20, 7 p.m.

Lake Street Dive performs on Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m.

ZZ top has been around since 1969 and will grace the Red Butte stage on Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m.

John Butler Trio is an Australian Band playing on Sep. 6 at 7 p.m.

Grammy-award winner Jason Isbell arrives on Sept. 8 and performs at 7 p.m. that night.

American Pop Rock band Haim does it all on Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Sheryl Crow herself will grace the stage on Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.

The summer closer is Gov’t Mule on Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
