USA Patriot Act info comes to campus today

Students who want to learn more about the USA Patriot Act have the opportunity to do so today.

As part of the National Week of Student Action, University Not In Our Name and the American Civil Liberties Union will present information at tables at the Union and the dorms.

“We’re just hoping to break down the walls of apathy with students,” said Nora Pincus, a U student studying history and economics and an intern for the ACLU of Utah.

Pincus says the goal isn’t necessarily to get students on the phone with their congressional representatives-even though she says she would love to see that happen-but rather just to make students aware of the Patriot Act’s ramifications.

To find out more, visit the tables at the Union and the Heritage Center.
