The Bible itself says don’t oppose gay marriage rights

By [email protected]

Melodie Anderson, Alumni, [email protected] This letter is in response to Elijah Gregory, Senior, Chemistry…The Bible DOES NOT say not to oppose gay marriage rights. You are right when you when you quote the Bible about judgement. However, judgement is not what we are talking about here. We are talking about making something legally right that is clealy wrong in the Bible. The Bible makes it VERY clear about homosexual behavior. Such activities depart from God’s created order, they are called detestable. Homosexuality was called wicked in Sodom(Genesis 19:5-7) and was seen in the New Testament as a sin that separates from God(Romans 1:27). The following scriptures are just a few that make this very clear: Levitius 18:22, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Genesis 19:24 and Romans 9:29. Sodom and Gomorrah is a very real thing. If you’re going to quote the Bible, you should have the facts right. Forgiveness is up to us, judgement is up to the Lord. I am very interested to see if you can produce ANY scripture that says the Lord does not oppose homosexuality.
