It’s Crispin Glover, so ‘What is it?’

“What Is It?”

Written and Directed by Crispin Hellion Glover

This coming week, the Salt Lake Film Society will be hosting special screenings of Crispin Hellion Glover’s new film, “What Is It?”

“What Is It?” is Glover’s (best known as the father figure, George McFly, from “Back to the Future”) directorial debut, and appears to be one of the most genre-elusive films to hit the independent scene in recent years.

“What Is It?” features a cast consisting almost entirely of individuals with Downs Syndrome, and showcases Glover himself in such ominous roles as The Dueling Demi-God Auteur and The Young Man’s Inner-Psyche.

If that doesn’t pique your interest, try the film’s tagline: “The adventures of a young man whose principal interests are snails, salt, a pipe and how to get home. As tormented by a hubristic, racist inner psyche.”

Seriously.

Special screenings of the film will be followed by a question-and-answer session with Glover himself, where all shocked, and/or appalled audience members may voice their views.

For a complete listing of upcoming screening times, interview schedules, locations, appearances and other pertinent Glover information, visit www.saltlakefilmsociety.org.
