Editor:
I read the article about the tuition increases coming up (“U gets $60 million, but tuition is going up,” March 4), and it just pisses me off.
I transferred and started here at the beginning of the current semester. I’m paying out-of-state tuition fees, and a 4-6 percent increase is $150-$400 more out of my pocket.
Hell, I’m paying $5,600 for 12 credits! That cost includes the extra fees I have to pay for my film classes.
Had there been a film program at a college where I’m from, I probably would have gone there, but there wasn’t.
Instead of increasing student tuition, they need to look at other ways of revamping the budget to keep tuition costs down for in-state and out-of-state students.
