The student government has found a way to save $8,000 to $9,000 next year.
The Associated Students of the University of Utah has contracted University Directories, a company based in North Carolina, to print and distribute daily planners to U students.
“The planners are still free and ASUU will get 30 pages to advertise anything they want,” said Eric Hu, UCard director.
The company sells advertisements to local businesses during the summer. The money generated offsets the printing price.
University Directories approached ASUU during Spring Semester, signing a three-year contract.
“The planners will be available by Fall Semester,” Hu said.
