What happens in the Union, stays in the Union

By Ana Breton

Students will have the rare opportunity to be married by Elvis without a lengthy engagement or even knowing their future spouse.

A wedding chapel complete with an Elvis impersonator will be one of the features of tonight’s Las Vegas-themed Crimson Nights starting at 11:30 p.m.

“The committee decided on the Vegas theme because it’s a place where you kind of let everything go and just have fun,” said Melissa Carey, the associate director of development and marketing for Crimson Nights.

For students who literally want to forget about their worries, a nationally recognized hypnotist has been scheduled.

A handful of other activities are planned for the event, including wax-hand-making, crafts, a picture station and a casino fully equipped with mocktails and Sno-Cones.

“We thought that with the end of the year so close, many of the students would need some time to play before finals,” Carey said.

A dance hosted by U92 is another highlight planned for the event.

“It’s going to be huge,” she said.

Crimson Nights “Las Vegas” will begin after Yellowcard’s performance at The Grand Kerfuffle is over.

Students can get in free with their UCard; admission is $2 without a UCard.
