Career fair offers job opportunities

By Jade Gray

The Career Fair takes place in the Union Ballroom today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free for students and hosts professionals from various jobs to counsel students on job opportunities.

Represented at the annual fair are 141 businesses, including companies that have been present in past fairs and also those who have been invited to attend by the Career Service Committee.

Melissa Ridgway of Career Services said that students of certain majors will benefit more than others.

“It will benefit students who are interested in pursuing a career in business engineering and the humanities,” she said. “(Though) the fair is a great place for any student to explore what companies are out there.”

Attending companies come with information about their institutions, job openings and possible internships available for students.

Among the companies present are General Mills, UPS and Utah State Parks and Recreation.
