Piper’s writing, not North Salt Lake, is ‘filth’

Editor:

Matthew Piper is an ass. He called my hometown “filth” (“The paradox of Orchard Hills,” Oct. 18). Where in God’s name do you get these opinion columnists? It sounds to me like you hire the most provocatively offensive douche bags you can find.

More legitimate opinion writers typically have meaningful opinions like, for instance, Lindsey Sine, whose articles are consistently interesting even if they don’t coincide with my own opinions. And she doesn’t even have to resort to slandering anything and everything that pops into her head!

Opinion writers like Matthew Piper and Aaron Zundel remind me too much of Bill O’Reilly. They’ll do anything to stay relevant, even if it means creating enemies out of totally innocuous subjects.
