U writers couldn’t hack it at BYU

After reading all of the hyperbole in the Rivalry Guide insert, I thought Matt Homer’s article (“The genesis of a rivalry”) was by far the most interesting and entertaining. However, in reading other articles written by his colleagues at “the other school up north,” I had to wonder, as an alumnus of BYU, why they hate us so much. Then it hit me: It is their way of masking their disappointment in not being academically qualified for BYU.As for whether or not BYU is the Lord’s university, I will only say that I know the colors of the devil when I see them. And I have to wonder why they changed their mascot from an American Indian to a chicken. A rather poor choice, or is it? Frank MillwardPleasant Grove
