Letter: Liberals don’t understand the Bible

Editor:I am writing in response to the liberal lies of Jay Richards (“God hates gay people, right?: Taking the Bible literally leads to skewed conclusions,” Feb. 22).The laws and punishments cited are part of the Law of Moses, which ended with Christ. If you were a Christian, you would know that. But you are not a Christian. You are a liberal.Though the punishments have changed, rape and homosexuality are still sins. You claim that the Bible calls for rape victims to be stoned. The opposite is true. Did you fail to give the biblical reference because you thought that would help hide your liberal lie?The Law of Moses concerning rapists and their victims is found in Deuteronomy 22:25-27. It reads in part, “25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die: 26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death.”As a typical liberal, you interpret that to mean the exact opposite of what it actually says.
