Utes vs. Wyoming Half Time Report

By Liz Frome

Off to yet another slow start, Utah is down at halftime 10-3 against a seemingly more prepared Wyoming.

The Utes came out of the tunnel for a quick three-and-out, and were overpowered in terms of intensity by the Cowboys.

On their first possession, Wyoming charged down the field and got on the board with a 32-yard field goal. The Utes were unable to match the Cowboy’s score on their next possession, as Joe Phillips collected his first missed field goal of the season. Prior to the miss, quarterback Terrance Cain chalked up another fumble off a snap that forced the Utes to attempt the field goal.

Utah’s defense was caught off guard with a trick play by the Cowboys that led Wyoming’s second quarter touchdown. After a pass by quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels to wide receiver Greg Bolling, Bolling passed the ball back to Samuels who completed the 30 yard catch and run with a touchdown.

Wyoming will have the ball to begin the second half.
