A U student was approached by a man wearing a ski mask as she got into her car in the west Marriott Library parking lot on Tuesday, April 15 around 11 p.m. (Emily Andrews/The Daily Utah Chronicle).

A U student was approached just before 11 p.m. Tuesday night by a man wearing a ski mask as she got into her car near the Marriott Library.
According to a campus alert released at 4:21 p.m. Wednesday, the female student had just gotten into her car and locked the doors when an unidentified man approached her car and attempted to open her driver’s side door. After the student began honking her horn, the man fled west towards the Field House.
Sgt. Mike Richards with U Police described the suspect as a 5’10” white male, possibly with olive-colored skin, wearing a ski mask and possibly a bandana of some sort. Richards said that the suspect did not say anything to the victim, and appeared scared when she honked her horn.
If you have any information related to this incident, please contact U Police at (801) 585-2677.
