The No. 3 Utah gymnastics team got a nice surprise on Thursday.

The Pac-12 announced it is moving the site of the gymnastics conference championship meet on March 21 from Tempe, Ariz. to Salt Lake City.

It will mark the second time in its four years in the conference that Utah will host the meet.

A possible scheduling conflict involving Arizona State’s women’s basketball team has forced the Pac-12 to move the meet. All the top 16 seeds in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament will host the first and second round games. The dates for those games coincide with the Pac-12 Gymnastics Championship, and with the Sun Devil women currently ranked No. 12, the conference didn’t want to take a chance of a conflict

The meet will feature two sessions with seeds 5-8 competing at 2 p.m. and seeds 1-4 starting at 7 p.m.
