Wind power might be Utah’s best bet

By By Liz Carlston March 9, 2009

Although the concept of harnessing natural energy is logical and is becoming more affordable with government support, time will tell whether it will truly be a sustainable industry and energy solution. It just might be what Utah needs.

Students should see past Go Party ad

March 9, 2009

In response to the attacks directed at the GO Party, I could see how some people would be offended by the ad run by the party. As a minority student, I hope that my peers would get past their biases and give the opportunity for the GO Party leaders to apologize.

Sustainable Initiative a positive campus change

March 9, 2009

Change is essential to improve the quality of our education and our university as a whole. The initiatives we have crafted work to enhance the education one receives at the U, both in and outside of the classroom. In 2009, Utah gained another claim to fame8212;or infamy, by ranking first in the nation with searches for "pornography" according to Google trends, which analyzes and breaks down search terms by a given region. Utah ranked second in the world in this category, behind Delhi, India.

Commandments are not foundation for law

March 5, 2009

In regards to Steven Warrick's column ("Government has the right to reject monuments," March 4): I followed the introduction to the case of Pleasant Grove v. Summum with glee until he made the irresponsible assertion that "as the embodiment of right and wrong... (the ten commandments) are the foundation upon which our law is built."

March 5, 2009

In Kiyan Sharifian's column on the Summer Schedule ("Summer schedule a bad omen for U," March 5) he commented that the David Eccles School of Business only offers three business classes in the summer.
