Turning over the same leaf

It was senior night for TCU on Wednesday night in Fort Worth, as the Horned Frogs said goodbye to four players for the last time. But it was the whole Ute team that played like seniors in the 69-65 loss. Senior citizens that is. Dealing with the usual missed free throws and a glut of turnovers, the Utes (12-14, 5-10 MWC) could not match the big plays from TCU (6-23, 2-13) down the stretch, eventually allowing the Frogs to run out the clock with the Utes on the losing end.

Money talk

U administrators will host a meeting discussing increases in tuition for the 2006-2007 school year on Thursday. Truth in Tuition will be held Thursday in the Panoramic East room in the Union at 2 p.m. The public, especially students, is invited to attend.

This nation holds as self-evident the idea that all people are created equal. Despite this rhetorical proclamation, the United States' history is plagued with the violation of its most sacred promise to its citizens: equality. In case nobody is aware, February is Black History Month.

U study finds popular dietary supplement ineffective in arthritis pain

A U study recently found that the dietary supplements glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate were as effective in relieving mild osteoarthritis pain as a placebo. The study casts serious doubt on the effectiveness of these commonly used dietary supplements. The study, which was published in the Feb.

U Profile: From sand to snow

Lue Cee Rusiang Kotaro, a senior in psychology, is from a worldly family. Kotaro, whose friends call her "Rus," is from the South Pacific island of Palau. Her twin sister is studying medicine in Fiji, and her brother lives in Seattle. After spending one year at Palau Community College, Kotaro decided to come to the United States.

U administrators and the student government have combined forces on yet another survey, supposedly aimed at answering the big question: Should health insurance be mandatory for U students? The health insurance debate is one of the most daunting issues students currently face.
