Take 5

This Sunday, “The Simpsons” enters its 20th season on air. The Red Pulse Staff takes a look back at some of our favorite episodes.

1. “Homer’s Enemy” – Self-made-man Frank Grimes gets a job at the power plant; he and Homer immediately have problems. This might have been one of the first episodes where someone actually died.-CN

2. “Marge vs. The Monorail” – This was one of Conan O’Brien’s shining moments as a “Simpsons” writer, and one of the funniest episodes to date. And any episode where Leonard Nimoy guest stars is A-OK with us.-KS

3. “A Milhouse Divided” – Milhouse’s parents navigate the waters of a rough divorce as Bart and Homer watch from the sidelines. The moment when Bart breaks a chair over the back of an unsuspecting bathing Homer is worth it alone.-TH

4. “Homer’s Phobia” – John Waters guest stars as the flamboyantly gay shop owner making Homer’s life a living hell. Watching Homer attempt to keep Bart straight by accidentally taking him to a gay steel mill is one of the highlights.-TH

5. “Lisa the Vegetarian” – Funny because everything in this episode was perfect to a tee. The best episodes are also the ones with the message of acceptance through hilarity. The pig flying through the air to the tune of “Maybe I’m Amazed” does just that.-TH
