Men’s swim & dive: Utah stands in sixth place after first night of Pac-12’s

On Wednesday night, the men’s swim team headed to Federal Way, Wash. to compete in its first night at the Pac-12 Championships. After competing in two relays for the night, Utah stands in sixth place with 52 points, just behind Arizona State.

In the first relay, the team of sophomores Paul Ungur, Jack Burton, Ben Scott and Sean Bloore took eighth place in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:27.92.

Finishing up the quick night, the team of seniors Bence Király and Kristian Kron, freshman Daniel McArthur and senior David Fraser took sixth with the time of 6:26.15. Coming in behind them was the second Ute team of juniors Brendan Nguyen and Evan Indahl, and sophomores Brandon Deckard and Brandon Shreeve, taking seventh in 6:43.68.

Session 2 of the men’s Pac-12 Championships will begin tomorrow at 11 a.m. PST, starting with the 500-yard freestyle.
