Letter to the Editor

By Casey Jacketta

Editor:

It seems to me that there is hardly one day that The Daily Utah Chronicle does not talk about the “us vs. them” with regards to the Mormons vs. non Mormons issue.

I personally believe that there are more important issues here on campus, like the lack of parking spaces, our tuition increase, problems within different departments, our under-funded yet excellent professors, and other various problems facing everyone on campus. What I think you don’t realize is that you, the staff at The Chronicle, are aggravating this whole “us vs. them” syndrome that does not affect many of our lives here at the U as much as The Chronicle staff would like to think it does.

Honestly kids, look at your polls, look at the content of your newspaper. Aren’t you a little embarrassed? Most of us are. The Chronicle has no longer become something fun and interesting, with new ideas and new subject matter; it has only digressed into a horrible use of trees.

C’mon guys, grow up. There are more important issues all over the world, so look them up and let us know what is going on in the world, not just in your little world of “us vs. them” games.
