The suspension to U tailback Marty Johnson, announced by head coach Urban Meyer on Tuesday, was due to Johnson’s DUI arrest that occurred prior to the Utes’ Sept. 11 meeting with California.
It was his second DUI arrest of the year. He was suspended indefinitely, and may not even be allowed to practice with the team or participate in other team functions. Johnson, whose promising Division-I career has been stifled by injuries and run-ins with the law, might even remain suspended for the rest of the entire season.
