Liberals bore me. I’ve listened to more than a few and they all mindlessly repeat the same meaningless clichs. Originality, it seems, is lost to them.
The recent flap over Janet Jackson’s flopping breast is a perfect case in point.
Jackson’s unannounced, public peep show thrust her meager, middle-aged assets into the faces of the 100 million viewers of the Super Bowl halftime show.
The public, outraged, sent a record 200,000-plus complaints to the FCC. They flooded the airwaves with hours of impassioned calls to radio talk show hosts.
Politicians and pundits alike condemned Jackson, Justin Timberlake and MTV (the producers of the halftime show).
In contrast to the reaction of mainstream Americans, liberals responded to Jackson’s deplorable publicity stunt with their usual brand of arrogant condescension.
It was, they said, simply no big deal and anyone who thought different was a prude and a fool.
It’s no surprise that liberals are so blas.
Since its inception during the 1960s, modern liberalism has sold promiscuity, promising liberation.
Instead, their sexual revolution has produced only degradation and exploitation.
MTV is the perfect reflection of the left’s descent into cultural degradation.
Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, Music Television broadcasts one after another of offensive spectacles, each more nauseating than the last.
MTV’s 1999 “Video Music Awards” brought us Lil Kim’s little purple pasty, barely covering her breast. MTV has also publicized Britney Spears ever more sexual antics, including her open-mouthed lip lock with the elderly, but still vile, Madonna.
Christina Aguilera, Spears’ rival, has long pushed the boundaries of bad taste, prancing about clad in panties and “crotchless leather pants,” which bikers and ranchers know as chaps.
Aguilera champions her descent into vulgarity, abundantly fulfilling her promise to get “dirrty.”
MTV has even gone to the lengths of importing Russia’s lipstick lesbian duo, t.A.t.U., to host a crowd of girl-on-girl make out sessions live on stage at the 2003 “MTV Movie Awards.”
Thanks to MTV, lesbianism has morphed from a despised perversion into a tawdry, money making gimmick in just one generation.
“You’ve come a long way, baby.”
Add to all of this Paris Hilton’s exploding popularity after becoming an Internet porn queen and it seems as if American culture has become little more than an endless series of “Whores on Parade.”
And what of the girls who worship these stars? The message sent by our hypersexualized culture is that intellect, virtue and integrity amount to nothing, but looks are everything.
When real women can’t meet the unrealistic physical expectations of a hypersexualized society, they turn to both scalpel and silicon. Self worth is sacrificed to an unattainable ideal.
Men are taught to value women solely for their looks, to look at them as disposable appliances whose only purpose is to provide sex.
Respect for women is a long discarded, old-fashioned notion. It has been swept away by an endless array of airbrushed models and fantasy fornication.
In contrast to liberal claims, self respect is built by sexual restraint. Few women respect themselves if they act like whores and most men won’t respect women who dress like whores.
Liberation doesn’t lie in promiscuity, it lies in virtue.
Old fashioned virtues like honor, respect and integrity free both women and men from the crass demands of sexual promiscuity.
Women can be free of an unrealistic, unattainable physical ideal, free to develop their minds and talents.
Both men and women can develop deeper, richer relationships, free from abuse or exploitation.
The mindless clichs liberals spout are meant to obscure this truth: Liberals are the allies of a culture that denigrates men and women, while conservatives are the allies of a culture that exalts men and women.
Which culture to support seems an obvious choice.
