Swimmers have successful weekend
The women’s swim team knocked off SDSU on Friday night and then came back the next afternoon to beat UNLV. The men had the night off on Friday before losing to UNLV on Saturday. On Friday, the Ute women won 10 of 13 events. Junior Amber Walter won both the 50-free and 100-free as the U won 140-95.
Saturday brought another big victory for the women, as they beat the Rebels 148-95 to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Utes did one better than Friday night, winning 11 of 13 events. The men lost to the Rebels 130-111, putting their record at 2-1 on the year.
Cross Country closes out season
The Utes finished 15th out of 18 teams over the weekend at the NCAA regional competition.
Finishing on top for the U was Ashlee Warnick, who finished 45th overall with a time of 23:01.
Northern Arizona’s Johanna Nilsson turned in the winning time of 20:39.
