U President Michael Young recently visited Seoul National University while on a private consulting trip to South Korea. Young met with former U professor Su Won Kim of SNU’s chemistry department. Kim introduced the president to other doctors from SNU.

“We talked, very preliminarily, of possible collaboration on both the physical sciences and the health sciences side,” Young said.

Young primarily used the trip, which occurred Nov. 13-19, as a private consulting trip for law firms.

“Whenever I go on private trips, I try to track down U alumni,” he said.

Young said he hoped the meeting would instigate better relations with the Korean university.

The trip was paid for entirely by non-state and non-university funds.
