A man is continuously followed by a strange murderer and given a package, the contents of which he does not know.
This is the plot of Matt Burns’s short film that he entered into the Union Programming Council’s second annual film festival, which will be held tonight at 7 p.m. in the Union Ballroom.
“The festival is an opportunity for film students or students in general to show off their talent,” said Mindy Chidester, director of the event.
The festival will also showcase a gallery stroll of student artwork.
Sheila Toy Brown, sophomore painting and drawing major, entered a painting that she created on oil and canvas.
“I feel I’m prostituting my genius,” Brown said. “But I’m poor, but I also like money. I’m a sell out.”
She added that she appreciates the opportunity to show off her work.
The film festival has two award categories: audience choice and grand jury, which is chosen by members of UPC and a film professor.
“The more people you get to come, the better chance you have to win,” Chidester said.
The audience will also choose the winner of the gallery stroll. First place in all the events will receive a 30-gigabyte iPod.
Members of the audience can enter a raffle to win a trip to Austria. Admission to the event is free.
