On Oct. 5, Gorgon City — the artists behind “Ready for Your Love” — is coming to Salt Lake City. The upbeat electronic duo known for their collaborations are on a tour of the United Kingdom and North America and have recently released a new single.

“Primal Call” is an upbeat celebration of how far Gorgon City has come in their career and the first track released after signing with their new record label, Realm. The song features a quick, buoyant melody familiar to many of their songs, with a heavy base line and harmonized, ethereal vocals. As a solely lighthearted work appealing to positive emotions, Matt Robson-Scott and Kye Gibbon did not collaborate with anyone or decide to write lyrics for this track, instead creating a track that draws the listener in and does not need words to explain the excitement and happiness inherent in the drums, vocals and synthesized piano.

Known for mixing fun samples with addictive beats in their interesting mix of house and garage music, Gorgon City embodies a sound that is both easy for listeners to get lost in as it is to move to. Robson-Scott and Gibbon’s infectious energy on stage and the reverberating beats the audience feels in their hearts creates an electric experience the audience won’t forget.

For those just finding their feet in the electronic genre, Gorgon City is the perfect place to get started. Their work provides a heady mix of the traditional electronic sounds and those that take the genre in a new direction. Gorgon City put a unique spin on the genre in order to create enthusiastic tracks.

Their concert at The Complex will feature fellow iconic electronic duo, Solardo, and progressive bluesoulrock band, PRZM. Tickets to the Gorgon City, Solardo and PRZM concert are still available and can be found online for $27.50 per person.
