International Center holds study abroad fair

By Parker Williams

The U’s International Center is encouraging students to expand their college education by studying abroad.

The center is sponsoring the annual study abroad fair today in the Union Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

European art, politics in China and various language programs are just a few of the programs that will offer information and advice to students at the fair.

One of the newer language programs being offered is the intensive Arabic program in Alexandria, Egypt.

Other intensive language programs include Japanese, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese and French.

Students who are interested in studying abroad but don’t have the money can utilize the more than $20,000 in study-abroad scholarships currently available.

Another way students can save money is through the International Student Exchange Program. Through ISEP, students can study abroad for the same cost as studying at the U. Students pay normal U tuition plus room and board.

With more than 100 colleges participating in the exchange program, students have a variety of destinations from which to choose.

Students currently involved in the exchange program will also be at the fair to answer questions and share experiences.

For more information, students can stop by the International Center in the Union, Room 159, or visit www.sa.utah.edu/inter/sap.
