Greek rush week begins

By Parker Williams

Fraternities and sororities around campus are looking to boost their membership numbers as part of Greek Row’s annual fall Recruitment Week.

Formerly known as “Rush Week,” Recruitment Week offers students the opportunity to become more familiar with Greek organizations around campus.

Lori McDonald, assistant dean of students and advisor to Greek Row, said fraternities and sororities impact students in a positive way for the rest of their lives, not just while they are in college.

“Fraternities and sororities are forever,” McDonald said. “If you move to another city, in general if you join a national Greek letter organization, you’re going to find an alumni association of that group.”

As in past years, fraternities and sororities at the U will be offering activities to attract new members, including barbecues and various games.
