The Utah golf team registered a 10th-place finish among the 24 squads competing at the Countrywide Intercollegiate in Simi Valley, Calif., on Oct. 15 and 16.
The Utes finished with a collective 40-over par 904 for the 54-hole tourney, largely based on the efforts of sophomore Luke Swilor’s sixth place individual finish.
Swilor shot a 2-over 218?including an impressive 3-under 69 in the final round?to finish 13 shots ahead of his nearest U teammate.
Nick Summers and Nick Micek each shot a 231 (+15) and tied for 65th, while Paul Winterowd rounded out the team’s scoring with a 75th-place 233.
UC-Irvine won the tourney with a 7-over 871, while UC Riverside’s Brandon Hillpot took the individual title by five shots with an 8-under 208.
