WASHINGTON?Sen. Bob Bennett and two staffers from his office are taking antibiotics as a precaution while awaiting results from anthrax tests taken Tuesday.
Bennett, R-Utah, and his staffers were at a Senate Republican Conference meeting in the office downstairs from Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle?s office when a letter containing anthrax was opened in the South Dakota Democrat?s office.
Bennett and his staff are expecting results from their nasal swab test Thursday. They are taking Cipro, an antibiotic used to fight anthrax, as a precaution.
Most of Sen. Orrin Hatch?s staff has also been tested, and the Utah Republican planned to be tested Wednesday afternoon.
