Halloween is an exciting time in the year?especially for children.
To make sure that this Halloween would be exciting for underprivileged children as well, the University of Utah Greek Council hosted its annual Halloween Service Project Wednesday night.
The party, held at the Neighborhood House?a school for underprivileged children at 500 S. 1050 West?had face painting, mask making, cookie decorating and a spook alley. About 230 children attended.
The event was funded, staffed and set up by the greeks. Each house was involved, said Cory Peterson, president of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
“Kids come out of every room with a smile on their face,” said Greek Council member Parker Bradley.
“It was cool, and it was kind of scary,” said 10-year-old Jason Martinez. “It was fun doing the activities.”
