The HPER pool is scheduled to open again today at about 1 p.m.
After a swimming student reported possibly having the parasite cryptosporidium, the College of Health closed the pool Monday at about 9 a.m.
While closed, the pool was hyperchlorinated, curing it of any contamination.
“We’re extremely environmental- and safety conscious,” said John Dunn, the College of Health dean, Monday.
“We’re looking to open it back up Thursday at 1 p.m. approximately, whenever we can get the chlorine back to the normal level,” said Michele Johnson, assistant director of the University of Utah’s Environmental Health and Safety department.
“We’re pleased, I think people appreciate and understand” our prudence, Dunn said.
