Caught using a stolen permit?The permit a driver used to park his car on campus was discovered as stolen. The driver was required to pay fees for using the stolen permit, and the University of Utah Police Department referred the incident to the Student Behavior Committee.
You see, those little computers parking enforcers carry never forget. You can run but you can’t park.
Shouting in a clinic?Because he thought she ignored a question he asked, a man verbally abused a woman at the Madsen Clinic. A second man heard the noise and warned him to stop. When the verbal abuse continued, a call went out to the police. Police spoke with the suspect and he apologized, saying he was having a bad day. The woman did not press charges.

Anti-tree-ite hate crime?Two trees recently planted near Sage Point apartments were broken in half. A third tree was uprooted.

Bookstore patrons get ripped off?Three backpacks were stolen from the open storage cubicles at University Bookstore.
Son of a bench?A stainless-steel bench outside the Union was stolen, although it had been secured to the concrete with anchor bolts.
My questions are: One, who steals a bench? And, two, who is capable of stealing a steel bench bolted to the ground? Dr. Doom?
Car burglary?Someone burglarized a car parked near the 800 court in U dorms, stealing a stereo and a military field kit full of surgical supplies.
In a separate incident, a man reported someone had gotten into the trunk of his car and stolen his camera bag.
Credit card mis usage?Someone stole a wallet from a purse left in a Fort Douglas office. The thief used two credit cards from the wallet before the theft was discovered.
Bike theft?Someone stole a mountain bike secured with a chain near the art building.
Police tip of the week?Don’t leave your backpacks, wallets or purses under a door, or in an unlocked drawer. Take these items with you or lock them up when you leave?even if you are leaving for only a minute or two. Remember, it only takes a thief 30 seconds to steal from you.
