The National Soccer Coaches Association of America named U senior Amy Kofoed to the All-West third team for the third consecutive year.
The honor comes after Utah was again overlooked for the NCAA Tournament, and following the departure of Kofoed’s coach, Amy Winslow.
In the 2001 season, Kofoed led the Mountain West Conference in goals and points. The senior had 12 goals and 30 points. In addition to her scoring, Kofoed also tallied six assists, leading the U.
She was named to the All MWC’s first team for the third straight year.
During her four years at Utah, Kofoed scored 46 goals and tallied 108 points, both U records. Her 16 career assists is second all-time on the U list, behind only Staci Burt.
Against Wyoming in November, Kofoed set a new conference record for points in one game with nine. She scored four goals and had one assist. The four goals in one game tied a conference record.
The only other player from the conference to receive recognition from the NSCAA was BYU’s Aleisha Cramer, who was named to the All-West’s first team. Cramer was second in the MWC behind Kofoed in points scored, and tied for fourth in goals with nine.
