SALT LAKE CITY?Steel workers found Olympic clothing floating in the Jordan River on Thursday, alerting police to the recovery of $28,000 worth of stolen goods taken from an Olympic sponsor.
The apparel, much of it still wrapped in plastic and considered usable, was being plucked from the river and a service canal.
Employees of Steel Coatings in Salt Lake City saw jackets floating in Jordan River on their lunch hour and quickly notified police.
The recovery took place a few miles from the Marker Ltd. warehouse where thieves broke into a truck last week and made off with the Olympic clothing, including 40 long coats and parkas made exclusively for the IOC.
