SALT LAKE CITY?The Division of Wildlife Resources has stopped all helicopter animal captures following a crash that killed three men.
Thursday’s decision comes after the Dec. 27 accident in which a Division of Wildlife Resources employee and two members of Helicopter Capture Services died.
The helicopter they were using to round up moose clipped a power line and crashed into a frozen reservoir in Parleys Canyon about 10 miles outside of Salt Lake City.
“I do not expect we will have another helicopter capture lined up in Parleys this year,” said Alan Clark, Wildlife Section chief for the Division of Wildlife Resources.
