SALT LAKE CITY?Legislative leaders claimed Monday that Utah Transit Authority executives’ salaries are “grossly out of line with the private sector.”
House Republicans demanded to know UTA boss John Inglish’s yearly salary. If the information is denied, lawmakers may punish the public transit entity.
Inglish makes an estimated $226,500 a year, including a possible 25 percent performance bonus. Last year, he earned over $254,000.
If it proves true that UTA salaries are “grossly out of line,” then the Legislature will want a say in how the UTA board is appointed, said House Assistant Majority Whip Greg Curtis.
