OGDEN?A property owner who was forced to remove signs critical of Ogden from his vacant building just hours before the Olympic torch arrived has filed suit against the mayor and city.
Ogden filed misdemeanor charges and a civil suit against Bruce Edwards, whose signs proclaimed “Ogden City Is Not Safe,” “RAPE” and other anti city messages. Just hours before the torch passed through on 25th Street on Feb. 6, the city secured a temporary restraining order on Edwards and confiscated the signs.
Edwards, who is being represented by the American Civil Liberties Union, wants the ordinance declared unconstitutional and he is seeking damages.
