SALT LAKE CITY?The FBI is investigating whether a man accused of stashing cyanide in Chicago’s subway system had a hand in the bombing of a Utah Power substation on the final day of the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Two anonymous law enforcement sources told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Joseph Konopka, 25, of De Pere, Wis., is being investigated in the Feb. 24 explosion at a Utah Power substation near Salt Lake International Airport.
Konopka, who calls himself “Dr. Chaos,” also is accused in Wisconsin of a rampage of vandalism that included sabotage of a power substation.
