SALT LAKE CITY?Nearly $150,000 in cash was stolen from a 72-year-old woman’s home safe.
Investigators want to interview the woman’s grandson-in-law.
“We’re not ready to call him a suspect yet,” said Peggy Faulkner of the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s office. William Neves reportedly paid off a large debt shortly after the theft was discovered and hasn’t been seen since, she said.
Whoever stole the cash, along with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, knew exactly where Betty Falsone kept her safe.
Although the loot was hidden, Faulkner advises Utahns that it’s not wise to keep excessive amounts of cash around the house.
