PROVO?U.S. House Majority Leader Dick Armey told a party convention that GOP faithful must be prepared to deal with the “Republican Condition”?being the majority party.

“We are now…the majority governing party of America,” Armey told the party’s 3rd U.S. House District gathering.

Armey urged the delegates to keep their party true to its ideals of family and small government.

“We have a responsibility to have a government that knows the goodness of the American people and has the decency to respect that,” he said.

Utah’s state party conventions will be in May. Meanwhile, Armey, a Texas representative, said he will retire after this term.
