Teren Jameson, the U’s star performer on both the cross country and track teams, has been named a 2001 Academic All-American.
The senior not only earned All-America status in cross country for the second consecutive year with his 38th-place finish in last fall’s NCAA Championships (running the 10K in 30 minutes, 10 seconds), he boasted an even more impressive performance in the classroom, as the electrical engineering major carries a 3.975 GPA.
In earning the award from the United States Cross Country Coaches Association, this is the fourth straight year that Jameson has received some kind of academic recognition.
In this spring’s track and field season, he has already placed first in a meet at the Azusa Pacific Invitational.
