NEPHI?Prosecutors want a free-lance writer to testify against polygamist Tom Green as part of the state’s attempt to prosecute him on a child rape charge.

Juab County Attorney David Leavitt said he has subpoenaed writer Carolyn Campbell to testify and hand over confidential notes used for her articles on Green’s family dating back more than 15 years.

Campbell said Monday she is willing to go to jail to protect her sources.

A hearing on Campbell’s motion to quash the subpoena is scheduled for Friday in Nephi.

Campbell has written for Ladies’ Home Journal, Redbook, Utah Holiday magazine and the Salt Lake City Weekly.
