SALT LAKE CITY?The Internet company MyFamily.com has teamed with Salt Lake City’s Relative Genetics laboratories to offer DNA tests to people to hone their genealogical research.
The Ancestry GenetiKit, a suite of DNA tests aimed at helping clients confirm or rule out suspected relationships, fills in gaps in their pedigrees.
Based on analysis of swabbings from inside the cheeks, DNA samples are analyzed and posted on the MyFamily.com Web site, secured for clients through test identity codes and passwords.
So far, more than 300 people have paid $219 for GenetiKit tests.
Relative Genetics currently hosts the world’s largest genetic-genealogical database.
