SALT LAKE CITY?Ballet West has announced plans for a $13 million building in Sugar House that will have facilities for its dancers, education program, administrators and production.
The Capitol Theatre will remain the company’s main performance venue, but the new facility will expand rehearsal space, replacing several leased buildings scattered throughout the city.
Construction will begin in June, with completion targeted for September 2003.
Ballet West has raised $10.7 million toward the facility. The $6 million leading donation for the building, which will be named The Jessie Eccles Quinney Center for Dance, came from the S.J. and Jessie E. Quinney Foundation.
