SALT LAKE CITY?One of the Wasatch Front’s three major rail projects may be delayed for lack of federal funding.
The agency that decides which communities will get the rail lines says it probably overestimated how much federal rail money it would receive.
That likely shortfall would push back construction dates for either the West Valley light-rail spur, the West Jordan light-rail spur or planned commuter rail through Davis County to Ogden.
All three projects are included in the first 10 years of the Wasatch Front Regional Council’s 30-year rail plan.
Currently there is no priority list for the three projects, so each is moving forward.
