Senior distance runner Teren Jameson showed why he was the only U representative at the NCAA Championships in Baton Rouge, La., on June 1, as he finished 12th with a time of 30:04.18 in the men’s 10,000 meter run.
Jameson received the invitation to the NCAA after finishing first at the Mountain West Conference Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo., May 17-18. Despite the U’s sixth-place team finish, Jameson’s 14:57.49 in the 5,000 meter race was good enough for the blue ribbon.
A few days after the race, Jameson was named to the Academic All-District VIII first team, as he possesses a 3.98 in electrical engineering.
The NCAA Championship race concluded the career for Jameson and the season for the rest of the U men’s and women’s track and field teams.
