Editor:The March 25 issue of The Chronicle contained ignorance and anti-war rhetoric that must be clarified. I agree with columnist Jennifer Mitchell?s statement in ?Liberals are as American as Apple Pie,? that being anti-war is not being pro-Saddam. Being anti-war at this point equates to being inane. Liberated Iraqis are more grateful to U.S. troops than Americans are. Mitchell also stated that she would like our troops to come home. Why? So she can spit on them the way her hippie forefathers did after the Vietnam War? I wish our troops were safe at home, but with threats abroad, I?m grateful that our brave men and women are willing to lay down their lives if necessary to defend our freedoms. Jeremy Voros stated, in ?U.S. Popular Culture: All War All the Time? that the United States started this war. How inane can you get? Saddam Hussein hasn?t followed the cease-fire agreements signed in 1991, therefore, the war continues.People everywhere must familiarize themselves with the facts from reliable news sources and facts on the ground, and you can?t find this sort of reliable information at Woodstock ?94, Hollywood, or in your local Starbucks.
